Remembrance Book biography of Pyotr S. Kudin

Pyotr Stepanovich explains how a line of Jews carrying all of their possessions were led by his house. The next morning he heard that they all had been killed - in the clay pit by the brick factory. »They took away all their valuables and then killed them there. The cows, which they led along with them - that all went in the other direction. The people went to their executions with the belief that they were going to be taken to Palestine. Everything was kept so secret [...] that they didn't suspect anything. Do you understand?«

Pyotr Stepanovich recognized Abram Tsypurskii in the line. »›Where are you going?‹ I say, ›Abrasha?‹ ›Well,‹ he says, ›they're bringing us to Palestine.‹« Kudin sighs. »On Monday I went to work and told all the boys, so on and so on ... The terror.«

»I organized an underground resistance group of young people ... We had no means for fighting and no experience. We had ideas, but nothing else. Nonetheless, we distributed pamphlets. We created opposition propaganda for the youth. They shouldn't voluntarily go to Germany.«
